Family Photos

January 5, 2015 1 comment

So, it’s been a while. I’ve spent the last few years working on making and raising little ones. I have been anxious to get back to taking pics that don’t always involve my own children. So I was pretty excited when close friends asked me if I would like to take their family photos. While I was nervous at first, I was so glad I did. It was the day after Christmas and I was just getting over being sick. But the weather was perfect so everything was working in our favor.

It was such a fun get together and I was so honored to take their pictures for them.

Here are a few of my faves…

Goofing off…

And some sweet sibling shots…

Growing Fast

Leah is not walking yet…

But I am sure, soon enough, she’ll be running around and Kari and Jerry will be chasing her all over the place.

Enjoy these pics of Leah with her big blue eyes and sweet smile with her doting parents.

Little Shoes, Big Smiles

When a family asks me to take their photos, I feel like I will, in some way, always be a part of their lives.  They’ll have these photos documented of a moment in time.  Maybe they’ll look at it several times and then tuck them away with their memories until many years later.  They’ll come across these photos when their little ones are grown and smile at the tiny little shoes they had forgotten about.

I feel very privileged and grateful when I am allowed into a family’s life to capture their special moments.  Just over a year ago, I took these photos…

And this year, you can see how much the little one has grown!

By middle of our session, I even got serenaded with the best version of Happy Birthday I have ever heard…

With the cutest smile ever…

One of my favorite pics from the session…

Thanks Clifton family for a fun photo session!  To see more of one of the nicest familes I know, click for a mini-slideshow below.

Liz

There are about four people in this world that I can tell just about anything to.  I can completely let my guard down and be myself with them.  They’re the ones that I know if I absolutely needed to call them at 4 AM, needing help or just a cup of sugar, they’d be there for me.

Liz is one of these people.

If I am having a banana of a day and I want to throw something across my cubicle, Liz is somebody that will email me something completely random and funny, which makes me laugh and forget about what I was annoyed about.  She’s heard me sing and seen me do a lot of stupid things and she’s still my friend.

Recently, I had the honor of taking head shots for her because her very first book, Dark Corners, is being published!  I’ve read this book several times and really enjoyed it.  It’s suspenseful, creepy, taking you on twists and turns while you sit on the edge of your seat.  Before you know it, it’s 3 AM and you realize you need to put the book down or else you won’t be fully functional at work the next day.

So, I recommend you get this book right now.  It’s currently available on the Kindle.

On the Nook.

Soon it will be available in paperback as well.  You can follow Liz at her blog here:

Get the book and follow her blog.  Do it because she also makes an awesome looking zombie…

Leah

It’s finally spring and I had the pleasure of taking pics of the Dowell family on a windy day in March.  Leah is now six months old.  Here she is about a month old…

And here she is at six months…

She is such a sweet and beautiful baby.  It has been a pleasure to be able to capture her growing up and capturing the moments between her and her parents.  As you can see in the following pictures, there is so much love and smiles with them.  Enjoy!
